We spent the weekend recording the guitar and bass tracks for five of the songs that ae supposed to make it on the new record. I have to admit that I was a bit worried about the time when I started the bass recordings on sunday, but we managed to get all our work in and didn’t even have to hurry a bit. Everything’s still very rough and edgy, but because one guitar and the vocals are missing it has a whole different vibe to it. Strapped down and brutal, raw and honest. I really like that. (more…)

Yesterday we finished off the drum recordings and the cutting. You have to be honest, digital recording really saves you a lot of time and – which is even more important – covers up a lot (and I mean A LOT) of the mistakes you make while playing the songs. So today we are aiming at finishing one of the guitar tracks for all the songs (five in all) and then tomorrow it’ll be the bass. (more…)

Since Wednesday evening we (as in Arktika) have been recording nnew songs for a new full length record at the Tonmeisterei studios in Oldenburg. Forhat purpose our guitarist has put up a blog at our website, so you might want to check it out.
