We spent the weekend recording the guitar and bass tracks for five of the songs that ae supposed to make it on the new record. I have to admit that I was a bit worried about the time when I started the bass recordings on sunday, but we managed to get all our work in and didn’t even have to hurry a bit. Everything’s still very rough and edgy, but because one guitar and the vocals are missing it has a whole different vibe to it. Strapped down and brutal, raw and honest. I really like that.
So on Saturday after we were finished with the guitar tracks we sat down and watched the fottball match on TV. Germany was playing Hungary in a friendly test match before the World Cup. I was a nice change of scenery and the match itself wasn’t that bad. It just happens that Germany has a lot of tough luck losing yet another player to injury (that makes it six overall).
After the game we switched to the Eurovision Song Contest, I guess the hype got to us eventually.
We left on Sunday evening to head back to Cologne, listening to the rough versions for the whole drive. Oh my, what have we done…
