Seems like when you find some time to write you just can’t seem to stop. While I’m at it, I stumbled across this posting at the wonderful Koukou Yakyuu Blog done by Goro Shigeno who provided briliant live blogging for the Summer Koushien last year. Yotube footage of some of the pitchers in the upcoming spring tournament. Unfortunately no Wakayama Chiben … I actually don’t know if they were invited. I think I’ve become a fan because my Japanese tandempartner is from Wakayama. Plus I like the big “C” the fans display in the stands.

So this is it, this year’s tournament is finally over and the end of it wasn’t the high class game one would expect for a final of a competition. Turns out that for the Best 8 round and onwards the teams draw lots to determine the matchups. (more…)

Following sports in these recent days can really become a hassle. That is if you are trying to catch everything that is on TV at the moment. The Olympics ruin my schedule completely as German TV has 5 different stations covering most of action going on. Unfortunately they only show sports which are of importance to German viewers, which means they only show sports in which German athletes have a chance for a shot at a medal. So there’s no baseball at all. (more…)

Usually I always think of baseball as a game in which not many points are scored. Double digit results are rather unusual, that’s what I always had in mind. So I was quite surprised to read about the end result of the MLB game between Boston and Texas this morning. 19-17. (more…)
