Alright, so I’m a freak for cheering sections and the songs they sing and play. Which is one reason why I really like to watch the Koushien games. The way the brass band is playing there is simply astonishing. Not only do some schools have a song for each and every player on the team (at least it seems that way to me), but they also have a special song they play each time the team gets a hit or scores a run. And they instantly switch from the player’s song to the score or hit song. Pretty disciplined band(s) if you ask me. So while surfing around the youtube-universe I came across some samples from what bands might play ad I thought I’d share them. Some I never heard before, some even I recognized.
Has to be one of my favourites, although I think I never heard this one before. It makes a lot of sense, since it’s the theme song to a baseball anime.
I hear this one a lot and I especially like the drum part which the school sections usually use to cheer on a player.
Never heard this one before, but the title sounds like it’s used when someone hits a big one.
If I’m not mistaken this is Koda Kumi’s “Honey Flash” and I have no idea if it’s in some way related to some strange anime I came acroos some time ago.
The incredible cheering song of Chiben Wakayama (智弁和歌山).
This one seems to be the cheering song for Heian.
Kansai powerhouse PL Gakuen’s hymn.
“Love Me Tender” played by the band of Tenri (天理), who are already out of the spring tournament.
And finally a sample for the “hit song”. When the player gets a hit they suddenly change to another tune (this is Tenri again).
