There wasn’t anything to do really as the weather changed dramatically. When we all woke up it was raining and the CN Tower had disappeared behind a wall of mist. So me and my host hung around for the morning without doing anything before leaving for a mall in the city center.
We just walked there, just as we did the day before, but this time with the weather it wasn’t nearly as nice. The mall itself was quite impressive just because it was huge and stretched over a big area, but apart from that you could find a lot of the shops you have over in Europe as well. So we left that one and headed towards a brewery which had opened some time ago.
The place looked realy good, not too flashy, a bit laid back and it had definetely a European feel to it. Funny thing though that of the eight different kinds of beer they usually offer they only had two left to sell. Now that’s a new one for a brewery. I didn’t try the beer because it was only 1 pm so we just relaxed there and headed home afterwards.
Spending the rest of the afternoon at home we then took off for an Italian restaurant at the other end of town, trying not to get too wet by taking the public transport system. Just as in any other big city there’s busses, streetcars and a subway with three lines. Once you payed for the public transport system you’re allowed to go as far as you like. The price is set at 3 Dollars. But once you leave the system and reenter it at another point you have to pay again.
So we reached the restaurant which seems to be located in what is Little Italy it looked like it was rather packed. They don’t take reservations so if you didn’t want to wait in front of the store you could leave your name and they would call you when there is a fre table. We did just that and then went to a small bar just down the street to have a beer and returned to the restaurant (who had called us in the meantime) after only an hour to get something to eat.
The food there was wonderful. Although they only had pizza and a few other dishes that was one of the best pizzas I’d had in years. And it wasn’t that expensive at all.
Today the plan is to go out into the wild and take a look at Niagara Falls.
