I know I have been a little sloppy over the past few days and I sincerly apologize for that. Part of that had to do with a flu that got me right for the start of my holidays which began on Monday, so I was lying in bed most of the time. The other part is that it took me until yesterday evening to figure out how the MBS website worked this year around (just click the inning and that’s it. Duh!). Yup, that’s how dumb I was. I tend to but all the blame on my illness, but I guess I was just blind.

Well, so many people have been raving about this game (1, 2, 3) I guess I should throw in my own two cents (although I wasn’t able to watch it at all because of the time difference). That was one of the biggest annoyances to me, by the way. Why did those games have to take place at the west coast? I know the answer (the time zone is closer to Asia), right, but that made it impossible for me to watch any of the 2nd round games there.

Finally just right for the start of this year’s spring tournament at Koshien Stadium the fresh air of spring time came to Cologne at last. And not a day to soon. There wasn’t any way for me to watch any of today’s games and I am still not quite sure whether there is a live stream link on the MBS site or not. But I believe I missed out on a great start to the tournament.

I guess it doesn’t matter how small the fanzine is you are doing, people will always send you stuff for a review. As for Dear You Zine we did one issue in late 2005 and haven’t been active since but still people send out stuff to us so we write about them in our little publication. I guess the are looking for this because they seek some sort of credibility or something. So recently I recieved a package from a band called Kommando zurück. Just a small envolope with a CD in it. Oh, and a short and pointless sheet of paper explaing what I am dealing with this time.

The missing statue of KFC’s Colonel Sanders which was dumped into the Dotonbori Channel during the celebrations of the Tigers first and last win of the Japan Series resurfaced during cleaning works.

Every time I see a dorama featuring Nakama Yukie I have the feeling that at some point she will either put on a red training suit or she will talk to the camera and say “fight-o!”, that’s how much I like the Gokusen series. This one is different though, a lot more serious that the silly stuff that goes on in Gokusen. Nakama plays a young women who works at a cooking school and finds herself at the train station one day observing a man (Jinnai Takanori) who is behaving strangely. As the train approaches the station the man moves forward to the edge of the platform and looks like he is trying to throw himself in front of the locomotive. Just as Nakama’s character tries to stop him a man (Kase Ryo) rushes past her and pushes back the suicide attempting man. That’s how their life’s cross and the story of the dorama is how they slowly start to cope with each other. A very slow moving story with great acting from great actors. (7,5/10)

I intended to just pick up the new record of MONO and get a couple of tickets for the upcoming HAMMERHEAD show in April. Turns out the record wasn’t there yet and the show was sold out so I had to shift my focus towards other things:
