My name is Jan, I am from Cologne, Germany, and whenever I find the time I write about lots of different things here. My main focus is on sports and music, since those are the two topics I am most interested in.

• In sports I am a huge football (soccer) fan in general and I support my local 5th division team S.C. Fortuna Cologne.
• As of late I have been writing about them in another blog in German (dfcmitglied472.wordpress.com).
• Recently I have been learning about baseball, a sport which was of no interest to me 1.5 years ago. Since then I have been absorbing information about professional leagues all around the world and I am especially interested in Japanese Baseball.
• The interest in Japanese Baseball stems from my interest in Japan in general. I watch Japanese television series to learn to speak Japanese and I have a great interest in the cultural differences between Japan and Europe.
• I play in a band called amodestproposal with which me and my bandmates played lots of shows with bands like The Gaslight Anthem, Against Me or The Weakerthans.
• I started another band with some friends which hopefully some time in the future will also play some shows., we are called Arktika, we released a two track 12″ and are in the midst of writing more songs for yet another record.
  
• In music I like to write about shows I’ve been to and records that are of special meaning to me. Record reviews can come in two forms: reviews of records I recently bought or reviews of records I own for a long time and which have some sort of memories attached to it.
