David Ortiz linked to PED use

There we go, another one bites the dust. I have to admit that this doesn’t come as a surprise really. Being exposed to the media coverage of the drug abuse in cycling during the Tour de France the use of performance ehancing drugs was and is discussed in the German and European media all the time. There is a lot of fingerpointing towards countries which don’t enforce the tests and controlling systems of the World Anti-Doping Association. Germany is always portrayed as the glorious island where no doping is used whatsoever.

Braveyoung + City Of Ships @ Waldmeister e.V., Solingen

After what could have been a nice and easy evening at the “Underground” beergarden during the All Schools Festival on Friday was rained out I was happy a friend offered me a ride to a show in the lovely city of Solingen. I hadn’t heard the names of the bands before, but because this is the 21st century and we all have access to Myspace I gave their songs their a listen and decided to join the fun.

I haven’t been writing about baseball lately. Somehow I want to blame it on my work, which might be true to a certain extent. But then again I still have the chance to catch a decent amount of games both from the States and Japan, so I shouldn’t complain.

JDrama: The season wrap up (spring ‘09)

It felt as if during the past season there haven’t been as many good and interesting series as their used to be. But maybe that’s just my imagination. I might think so because the first three I started watching from the current summer season instantly got me hooked. But let’s take a look back first…

Endless Grind 2009 – Old School Skating to the max

While I’m at it I can just continue writing. I just got a mail remeninding me that last weekend saw yet another dition of the (in)famous Endless Grind Skateboarding Contest take place at the Schlachthof in Bremen. Pascal has been putting those events up for over a decade now and it’s great to see that there are still people showing up and enjoying the day. I only had the chance to go there once but that time was a blast. Just check out the video for this year’s edition.

I don’t really like to brag about stuff and I’m not very good at promoting the things I do with my band(s), but this time I am really proud of what I accomplished with the guys I make music with. In May both of my bands put out records on vinyl. For one it was the bettersweet farewell present to the singer who will now move along to be a father for his newborn son. The other one was the debut release.
